Kelly Byrnes Scholarship Recipient Brianna Coulter is a medical assistant student at our Kentwood campus near Grand Rapids, Mich.
“I was born to be in the medical field,” Brianna says. She has known her entire life that she was meant to be in the medical field. As a kid, she remembers imagining being a doctor, nurse or trauma surgeon.
Fast forward and Brianna found herself as a stay-at-home mom with only a high school diploma, having never loved a job before. She saw friends and family who didn’t take the traditional path for life join Ross and succeed.
“They joined Ross and changed their and their families lives,” Brianna shared, “I wanted that for me too, and Ross made it easy!”
Today, Brianna is wrapping up the last parts of her externship as a medical assistant and has loved every moment. She feels fulfilled in ways that she didn’t know were possible.
Brianna credits Ross with giving her the confidence she needed to continue her education and truly be great at something. She plans to continue her education with the goal of becoming a registered nurse.
“My advice is to DO IT,” Brianna said when asked what advice she’d share with future Ross students, “Enroll and start as soon as you can. Then while in school show up and listen because you cannot fail if you show up and try.”
